Coming off a New York Class B state championship winning season, Yorktown started its 50th anniversary season off with a bang in an 18-6 victory over Brewster.
The Cornhuskers were led by numerous standout performers. Senior Logan Peters controlled the offense, dishing out five assists and scoring twice for a seven-point total. Kyle Casey, a sophomore, netted a game-high five goals.
Captain Ryan Baker and Justin Cavallo followed up with four points each, Baker with four goals, Cavallo with three goals and an assist.
A commanding performance like this is a perfect start for Yorktown. The Huskers get back on the field on March 28 against John Jay-Cross River.
